About

Khizar Ahmad, founder

I am a technology and regulatory lawyer based in Utrecht. I have advised in-house at international technology companies, including Booking.com and Prosus, on privacy, AI, procurement and commercial matters, working directly with product, engineering and procurement teams.

I hold an LLM in Law & Technology (Honours) from Utrecht University, awarded with the Utrecht Excellence Scholarship. Before moving to the Netherlands I practised as an associate attorney, handling civil litigation, corporate compliance, data privacy and commercial contracts.

I founded Reglattice because companies building with data and AI are regulated by a lattice of overlapping European rules, and they are usually advised on each rule separately. Reglattice gives them one senior adviser who sees the whole structure.

I work in English and Dutch, from Utrecht, for clients across the Netherlands and the EU.

How I approach work

Scope firstEvery engagement starts with a written scope and, where possible, a fixed fee. No open-ended hourly surprises.
Decisions, not memosAdvice ends with a recommendation and the trade-offs, so your team can decide and move.
Built to be reusedFrameworks, registers and templates are designed so your team can run them after I leave.
Confidential and insuredProfessional liability cover, strict confidentiality and secure, EU-hosted tooling.

Have a regulatory question?

Send a short description of the matter. I reply within one working day, usually with a view on scope and a fixed fee where possible.
